It would be nice if the unique items, such as the duck flute and the crypt key, were handled in the same way that the runes are. That would stop them being endlessly dropped if they aren’t in your inventory.

Plus they take up valuable space in your inventory. There are three keys, 3 mage boards, duck whistle and dog bowl all taking up space.
