How to kill Magic Eater?

I'm in the dragon cave with level 32 character and can't get a single hit on a magic eater. How do you kill one?

Well I got past this issue. Leveled up a few times and applied the point to melee and strength.

I started recently and found that using poisonskin is really effective if you have high AC as well.
